U Day and Porn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok soooo that was really cool that we were able to go to U Day and ask random people about porn. It was strange how no one really new about the man who got caught watching the child porn. The 1st person my group spoke to was a cop....he was all about a persons privacy and the right to watch it on your own time...not well in a public library...the cop said if he were in a public setting and was off duty he would remove him self from the problem. Other students pretty much said they didn't no about the porn guy, and they would report it, and it should be banned on public cluster on campus.

    Most people we spoke to also did not know about the incident over the summer, I really do think if people aren't here for summer classes, they completely remove themselves from the going-ons. I'm interested as to what officer you spoke to, and his age. I found depending on age people reacted differently. Also we generally found the same thing, that people wanted it banned from the library but not filtered internet.

    Wow im scared for my safety now. If an off duty cop would not say anything and remove himself from an illegal act that was taking place right in front of his eyes, who's to say that if he saw a woman being harrased or even worse assalted that he would say something... thank god that was a UNH cop and not a Lynn one cuz i might have had to change my place of residence.

    I think it's interesting that the students we spoke to didnt know about the porn guy, kenlyne. But it was interesting also to tell them and to see their faces of disgust. I found it interesting that when students aren't here during the summer, no one knows about the happenings, and the fact that when we got back, it wasn't more of a news heading to people. I wish i knew about this when i got back to campus, but i found out about it in this class. Hopefully we can make everyone more aware and find a way to control this mess. good workin with you kenlyne!
